The first thing that comes to mind from this image may not immediately warrant best wishes on Father’s Day, but somehow I associate a man dressed in sweats in the middle of the day watching his kid pee against a building as… right. Don’t get me wrong, this is far from legal, but right, in the sense that when you have to go, you make sure your boy goes!
I was never one to celebrate holidays as a kid, but now, see a day like Father’s day as a way to go over the top and give your father figure in your life the extra attention that we can’t always permit.
If anything, “Bid Daddy” reminded me of some of the great things that fathers and their children do. Watching the hockey game, going to the park, or even having a nice meal at home. Now, granted Big Daddy didn’t always add that family touch to it, but who am I judge?
It will be 100 years on July 5th, when a church in West Virgina, USA first commemorated father’s day. That church still exists today; the Central United Methodist Church.
This isn’t a holiday to be left stressed over gifts. Crayon scribbling “I love you Dad”, and even burnt toast served in bed will do justice. Father’s Day is a time to take in a baseball game, have a BBQ, and just love the father you have that much more.
If all else fails our father’s day gift guide including complete series’ on DVD Boxset and Sports for dad will do great… hint, hint.
Another beauty of father’s day is day you become a Daddy, and for Patrick L. in our shipping dept. he too will be able to share this beautiful celebration of life. The word from the mother is the way Pat packs DVDs, she isn’t the least bit worried on how the delivery of their child should go! We wish him nothing but the best with his new bundle of joy which is expected any day now and still expect him to make it to work every day on time! :P ;)
