This movie is based on a true story. What are some of your favorite movies that are based on true stories?

Congratulations to: Carlos Rojas
this movie was really good ,i also loved titanic and labamba
LaBamba was good but sad.WTG winner.
The Titanic although I think the only true events of that movie was the sinking of the ship. The entire plot involving Jack and Rose was fabricated although there are people who will swear there is a grave with the name Jack Dawson on it. I love movies based on real events, the only problem I have with them is that hollywood fluffs them up so much to make them more dramatic or to create a better story line. Some of them can get really far off base from what the actually events really were. Alot of them are very loosly based on real events by the time they are done. I like the ones that stick closer to the true story.
A lot of my favorite films are based on true stories, although, sometimes it can be difficult to decide how much (if any) of the story actually took place. Some of the better ones include Schindler’s List, Brian’s Song, Ghandi, The Last Emperor, Chariots of Fire, Topsy-Turvy, Serpico, The Great Escape, The World’s Fastest Indian, and La Vie en Rose.
On the other end of the spectrum is Mommie Dearest, a film that tells the questionably true story of Joan Crawford from an obviously prejudiced viewpoint. The film is so camp and over the top that it becomes an (unintentional) comedy.
i really enjoyed this movie
besides selena, i would say sweet dreams cause i am a big patsy cline fan. when i was a kid i would watch that movie every single day.
Into the Wild, Prayers for Bobby and Titanic I remember have moved me the most :(
La Bamba was a good one along the same lines as Selena. Very tragic story about the life of Richie Vallens up until he died along with The Big Bopper and Buddy Holly. The day the music died as Don McLean sang in American Pie.
