Daily Giveaway Question:

Congratulations to: Theresa Shafer
This was an awesome movie with a great twist to the end. A must see!
When A Strange Calls. It may lean more towards thriller but I often interchange mystery and thriller. The original was far better than the remake in my opinion but both are decent to watch. I can remember when I was younger and use to babysit how creeped out I would get thinking about the plot of this movie and a killer calling from inside the house. It still gives me goosebumps. One I haven’t seen yet but would like to is The Crazies. I will watch anything that George Romero has a hand at and since he’s one of the writers this is one I have to see. I also enjoy that it has a fairly unknown cast.
perfect getaway looks like a great mystery movie, i am a fan of milla ever since resident evil
wtg
congrats to the winner
A hard question to answer succinctly! My first inclination is to go with Hitchcock movies: Rear Window, Vertigo, The Lady Vanishes. I was also an avid Agatha Christie reader growing up, and was inspired into reading her books after watching Murder on the Orient Express. And then there are the classic detective and film noir pics like The Maltese Falcon an Sorry, Wrong Number. Of course there have been several great mystery films in recent years too: The Usual Suspects and No Country for Old Men are two that come to mind. And of course there are the comedy and spoof films like The Pink Panther, Clue, and Murder by Death. But if forced to pic an absolute favorite, I’d go with Rashomon, due to its innovative storytelling technique: the same crime is viewed through the colored perspectives of different witnesses, and it is ultimately up to the viewer to decide what really happened.
i want this movie, i love milla
Secret Window was pretty good :) but A Perfect Getaway was dumb, I didn’t like it that much… it’s too much of the same over and over, there are not many different scenarios
Donnie Darko was a good one. I’m a Drew Barrymore fan and as a result try to watch all of her movies. I have to admit though that when this one came out I wasn’t sure I was going to like a movie where a creepy giant bunny motivates someone to commit crimes. It turned out to actually be a really good movie and ranked up there as a cult classic now I think. The bunny still creeps me out though.
Congrats to the winner
Clue
“Deathtrap” and “Psycho”!
I think Wild Things is a good one !!
“Deathtrap” has always been one of my favorites.
I liked I, Robot. It really should fall in that category
Sherlock Holmes
One of my favourites is Alfred Hitchcock’s The Trouble With Harry
The others, Sixth sense
mystic river
Well, The Butterfly Effect is in the list as mystery – so I’ll chose that. That’s a crazy movie but I think it’s great!!
I enjoyed 88 minutes
se7en
sixth sense, usual suspects
The sixth sense, The Happening, The Others, The Jacket…
I liked the new Sherlock Holmes movie, and anything with a twist. This one looks really good too.
an old one I still remember play Misty for me!!!!
I loved the movie Clue. It has always been my favorite. I also like Murder by Death.
The Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons and occult/conspiracy style movies are some of the best mystery genre.
No Country for Old men was really good as well as The Glass House,The Divinci Code and Angels and Demons!
The Shining because…all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy!!
Mystic River, Vertigo
Se7en
The Usual Suspects, Beyond a Reasonable Doubt
mystic river, the girl with the dragon tattoo, witness,
Anything based off of Alfred Hitchcock, Agatha Christie, and some Steven King. Most B&W ” horror ” films of yesteryear could also be classified as mystery since they were more mentally challenging then the gore fests of later years.
Sherlock Holmes
Angles & Demons
butterfly effect
Inception, Pyscho, Se7en, The Shining, The Sixth Sense, Memento, Fight Club
CSI
Da Vinci Code, angels and demons was ok…
the skeleton key….that movie was very mysterious and creepy
dark water
solstice
Alfred Hitchcock movies. Too many to list individually.
The latest Sherlock Holmes was good. And not a movie, but Lost was worth watching (except or the ending…)
Fallen, and Below are two of my favorites.
The Da Vinci Code
88 minutes that is a great movie one of the best that i have seen so far
And Then There Were None, Da Vinci Code, Sherlock Holmes
I’m hoping to see Angels and Demons some time soon :)
I agree. Sixth Sense was a good one. Terrific ending.
I love anything Sherlock Holmes or Agatha Christie.
The Sixth Sense is my favorite Mystery movie. I never saw the ending coming.
I love mystery movies. I’d say my favorite is “Death on the Nile” based on an Agatha Christie novel. After that would probably be Vertigo, Rear Window, Psycho, and basically every other Alfred Hitchcock movie. State of Play was a good, more recent, mystery movie. Saw this movie a while back. Pretty fun!
Deceiver
The Usual Suspects
The da Vinci Code, Angles & Demons
have to go with the Crazies, def worth your money and your time
