wtg
never seen this
Seen: Ghandi, Amadeus, Serpico, Patton, Gorillas in the Mist, Born on the Fourth of July, La Vie en Rose , The World’s Fastest Indian, and I, Claudius (TV miniseries)
Want to See: Mongol looks good, and I’ve heard great things about Shine
I’ve always like moives about Queen Elizabeth so I’ll go with The Queen. There have been a ton of movie depicting the Queen of England but this one was the best I think. Helen Mirren was flawless as Elizabeth II earning an Oscar for the role!
Congrats to the winner
Patton
damn I missed this daily I love this movie :(
Ray Charles!
Iris
The Hurricane. Loved the movie and the song by Bob Dylan is one of my favorites!!
Schindler’s List
I love biographies. I have become adicted to the Biography Channel. My favorites are about American Mobsters like the movies Bugsy and Lansky.
I would like to see Warm Springs, I hear it is a great biography on FDR!
I’d like to see Amelia
the miracle worker
“Walk The Line”!
Elizabeth, Henry the 8th, Mary queen of Scots, I enjoy the Elizabethan historical biographies.
chaplin is the only one i can think of, don’t usually do docs
Schindler’s List was really good, and so was Amazing Grace, although that may just fall under nonfiction rather than biography.
oh what was that one with the woman serial killer? the one that Charlene (and now I can’t recall her name either…ekkkk)
I’ve seen and enjoyed Milk and Capote.
Mongol – The Rise of Genghis Khan looked very interesting. I think I would like to see that one.
I really love ‘Selena.’ In fact, I just watched it again this last weekend
I saw The Motorcycle Diaries and liked it a fair bit. I remember seeing The Kid Stays in the Picture, but I have zero memory of the movie itself!
Forrest Gump was a great fictional biography, if you’re counting that.
Attila – The Scourge of God – that’s one I’d like to see.
Radio, Amadeus, The Blind Side
Amadeus, The Miracle Worker, Capote
oh and Malcom X ;-)
Chaplin, Ali ..
Schindler’s List
Walk the Line
I found “Iris” a touching movie.
Walk the Line is very good.
I loved Selena.
I thought Malcom X was a really good movie as well as Walk the line and The Buddy Holly story!
Schindler’s List has to be one of the all time best biographies.
Malcolm X
Walk the Line
I think my favorite biographical movie would have to be “Walk the Line”. Brilliant filmmaking truly captures the essence of Johnny Cash’s life. A Beautiful Mind is incredible as well…but I always feel a bit sad at the end. Biographical movies are often failures but every now and then you find a few gems. :)
Chaplin,Gandhi, Patton,temple grandin, pollack.
Bruce Lee
Iris
1. Schindler’s List, Gandhi, Lawrence of Arabia, Raging Bull, Amadeus, Patton & Braveheart
Ray, HollywoodLand, and Beyond The Sea.
Does it have to be about a person? Does We are Marshal count?
Ray was good! Walk the line, Braveheart, there are others but they escape me right now…
Wasn’t Patch Adams a biography?
How about Titanic, would it count?
Erin Brockovich, The Passion of the Christ, A Beautiful Mind, Amelia, Rudy, Men of Honor, & The Blind Side
The only ones that I’ve seen recently are A Beautiful Mind and Immortal Beloved.
the first one i’ve seen was Selena… I can’t htink of other ones at the moment
I haven’t seen it, but Downfall seems to be worth watching.
Catch me if you can, A beautiful mind, Walk the line…there’re so many!
The Motorcycle Diaries. And getting ready to watch the mini-series “Che” also about, well, Che Guevara.
malcolm x
Glory, Braveheart and In the Name of the Father
heart like a wheel. it’s about female drag racing driver Shirley Muldowney.
Biographies that I’ve seen and are some of my favorites are Gandhi, Raging Bull, Amadeus, Capote, Andrei Rublev, and Elizabeth. Love them. :)
