First of all…Yum! Now that we got that out of the way, let’s talk about the only thing hotter than Chris Hemsworth’s bod — his career! New fans might recognize him from the comic book blockbuster The Avengers, or his role in the pseudo-prequel, Thor, as the title character. The billion dollar success of the franchise was a launching pad for more roles in the future, including Thor 2 alongside Danish indie film star Mads Mikkelsen. But the past few years have already been kind to him. Since embodying the confidence and sex appeal of Captain Kirk in 2009, he’s had major roles in at least two films every year. This year alone you could watch him play the Huntsman to Kristin Stewart’s Snow White — a surprise success — only a few doors down from the Avengers, and he shows no signs of slowing down.
His charisma and looks (Did we mention the looks? You might want to scroll up again, just in case.) have led some to compare him to the talented Heath Ledger. He’s a dashing Australian with killer hair. Not to mention, he’s a daddy! Like Heath, he’s chosen some non-hero, non-traditional roles to widen his scope. However, he’s taken to fame in a different way. Heath never wanted the attention. He passed away before he was able to realize his dreams of living a normal life. Here’s hoping young Hemsworth will take the fame in stride. A meteoric rise to fame can be dangerous, but Chris is making appearances and balancing his family life with work. In the age of Twitter and TMZ it’s difficult for celebrities to avoid letting the press become a distraction. Chris has the opportunity to push them aside and focus on making more movies, and for all of our sakes I hope he does!
