Bet you haven’t read this before: Lindsay Lohan has crashed her car. The troubled actress allegedly plowed her rented Porsche into the back of a dump truck on California’s Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) on Friday morning. To make matters worse for the former teen star, celebrity gossip website TMZ is reporting that the truck driver whose vehicle she hit is claiming that Lohan and possibly someone connected with the Lifetime Network film she is working on tried to bribe him after the accident.
The accident, which sent Lohan to the hospital for about two hours, happened as the actress was headed to the set of her new Elizabeth Taylor biopic. According to the unnamed truck driver, after the accident had occurred, a man got out of a Cadillac Escalade that had been following Lohan and rushed to the actress’s side. The man then began removing items from Lohan’s car, which he stuffed into a pink bag.
The truck driver also claimed that the man offered to get him money, saying that the accident involved a famous person who preferred to keep the incident out of the press. The man also asked the truck driver not to mention anything about the pink bag and the items that had been removed from Lohan’s vehicle. Unfortunately for Lohan, the truck driver had already called 911, so there would be no keeping the accident out of the public eye.
Santa Monica police are still investigating the accident, which is just the latest in a series of troubling incidents in which the actress has been involved. In 2005, Lohan was involved in an accident that she said occurred because she was being chased by the paparazzi. Then in 2007, she was arrested on a drunken driving charge after striking a curb in Beverly Hills. About two months after that incident, a woman accused a drunken Lohan of trying to run her over.
