Jennifer Lopez, affectionately dubbed JLo by her fans, is an actress, dancer, and recording artist. From the Bronx, New York she worked her way up the celebrity ladder, starting as a back-up dancer for Janet Jackson. Although she started as an actress, she is most known for her music, selling over 70 million records worldwide, and considered one of pop music artists. Some of her most known movies include, “Shall we Dance?,” “Maid in Manhattan,” and “The Wedding Planner.” Recently she starred in “What to Expect When Your Expecting.”
J. Lo started her contract with American Idol in 2010, shortly after the birth of her twins Max and Esme with then husband Marc Anthony. Along with Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson she joined judging potential talent for the tenth season.
After getting divorced from Anthony and putting the finishing touches on her new album, JLo returned for an eleventh season for ‘Idol.’ However, she is unsure if she will continue as a judge. She said she has put other projects “on hold” for ‘Idol,’ and she is considering leaving the show to work on them. On her website, she says “It’s a tough decision.“
One of those projects could be the new lesbian show she is planning to debut with ABC Family. She was attracted to the show after playing a lesbian character in the movie “Gigli” opposite ex-fiancee Ben Affleck.
Raising a family as a single mom, keeping her clothing line up, acting, singing, performing, and now judging may be just a bit too much for this latina. She has worked hard to stay at the top, but working too much may make her career suffer.
We like seeing JLo on ‘Idol’ and will be sad to see her go, but the most important thing is to keep your health and well-being. JLo has a lot more to offer the world, so stay tuned!
