Bruce SpringsteenBruce Springsteen is an American legend in the rock music industry. Springsteen and the E Street Band have been household names ever since the release of songs like “Born in the USA” and “Glory Days” in the mid 1980’s. During the time when our country was desperately looking for a hero to take their minds off of the recession and other political issues, along came Springsteen with his hard driving rock music. His music set the tone for the country and soon, his music could be found everywhere.

Springsteen seemed to know just what to say to encourage the hard working American to stand up and be proud of their country. His music sent a message that things were going to be ok and that a little work never hurt anybody, as long as it was accompanied by alot of fun. What people didn’t realize was at the same time Springsteen was revitalizing a weary nation, his own life was giving him fits. The stress of being on the road and dealing with his own personal demons were taking their toll on the singer.

At one point after the release of “Born In the USA”, Springsteen admits he had contemplated suicide. A new article by David Remmick showcases the life of the artist during this more than troubled part of his life. Springsteen’s huge success on the charts overshadowed the singer’s personal problems. Not many knew what he was going through. He did open up to several people in his inner circle, but even they didn’t see the full scope of his problems. As he reminisces during the interview, he openly discusses several aspects of the his life with the E Street Band and his friend Clarence Clemons. He also talks in depth about how things have changed and the new perspective he has about performing. It seems he has a new appreciation for what he does and he is relishing the fact that he can still make an impact. Almost 30 years after the release of “Glory Days”, Springsteen realizes he is still living them.
