No, it ruins the effect of the cinematography and lighting, some of which is brilliant! Colorizing the old films is just an attempt to make the films more appealing to the masses, usually in vain anyway.

If the time is taken to do it well, I think colorizing is fine as more people will watch a color film. But I do think the original black and white version should be offered as well.

Definitely not! I find that the colour in colourized movies is absolutely horrible…it often looks pastel-like and not very realistic at all. Also, it plays havoc with shadows…can you imagine a classic film noir being colourized? It would take some of the mystery and suspense out of the entire movie. Any kind of art should be kept as the artist intended, IMO…when deviating from what was intended, it bastardizes the original. Nope, please keep my B&W movies B&W instead of dipping them in yucky Easter egg colours!

I believe the movies should remain as they were made originally. They may repair a bit like scratchy sounds etc. but not the color . That is the fun of being nostalgic and just sitting and watching an old movie.

Absolutely NOT! Black and white movies have a nostalgic feel that cannot be compared to color movies! PLUS with almost every movie now being made in 3D (which is ridiculous!) it’s nice to be able to watch a movie and feel like you’re back in the 1930s!!
