Enter Will Farrell and Mark Wahlberg, two Hollywood Actors who hardly disappoint. Walberg’s has some odd movies under the belt like Renaissance Man (1994) where he appeared alongside Danny DeVito, The Basketball Diaries (1995) playing together with Leonardo DiCaprio and Boogie Nights (1997) where he stars alongside Burt Reynolds. The craziest role of these 3 movies is Boogie Nights where he plays the role of an adult dropout who turns into a porn star actor. But the movies that boosted his popularity and seem to have really made him are The Perfect Storm (2000), The Italian Job, Four Brothers, and The Departed.

Will Farrell’s funny roles in comedy films such as Elf (2003), Melinda and Melinda (2004), Starsky and Hutch (2004), Anchorman (2004) and Talladega Nights (2006) [the last two also directed by Adam McKay] have always been unforgettable, and he will surely bring a lot of humor in The Other Guys.

Peter Travis from the Rolling Stones magazine says “Sit back and laugh your ass off, The Other Guy is a riot.” It’s worth mentioning that Samuel L. Jackson’s in it, so is “The Rock” and beautiful Eva Mendez. So we’ll see if “The Other Guys” will be one of those movies where we will remember these actors positively or not tomorrow night!

Directed by: Adam McKay

Staring:
Mark Wahlberg, Will Ferrell, Samuel L. Jackson, Lindsay Sloane, Dwayne Johnson, Eva Mendes, Michael Keaton, Ray Stevenson, Steve Coogan, Craig Robinson, Paris Hilton, Anne Heche and Rob Riggle

Synopsis

Set in New York City, The Other Guys follows Detective Allen Gamble (Ferrell), a forensic accountant who’s more interested in paperwork than hitting the streets, and Detective Terry Hoitz (Wahlberg), who has been stuck with Allen as his partner ever since an embarrassing public incident with his quick trigger finger. Allen and Terry idolize the city’s top cops, Danson and Manzetti (Dwayne Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson), but when an opportunity arises for the Other Guys to step up, things don’t quite go as planned.

Here comes another seemingly great romantic drama movie starring Zac Efron. He has grown up since his last 3 movies which were “17 Again (2009)”, “High School Musical 3: Senior Year (2008)” and “Me and Orson Welles (2008)”. In these movies he showed that he could be a good dramatic actor but in Charlie St. Cloud, he seems to have surpassed himself again. This time, the connection between the director Burr Steers and Zac Efron appears to be much more solid than their previous one, which was 17 Again, and which was pretty entertaining. Also, Charlie St. Cloud is an adaptation of a book by Ben Sherwood titled “The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud”. We’ll see how good (or not so good) that movie is this Friday.

Directed by: Burr Steers

Staring: Zac Efron, Amanda Crew, Kim Basinger, Chris Massoglia, Dave Franco, Charlie Tahan, Donal Logue, Tegan Moss, Augustus Prew and Brenna O’Brien

Synopsis

Charlie St. Cloud (Zac Efron )is a young man overcome by grief at the death of his younger brother Sam (Charlie Tahan). So much so that he takes a job as caretaker of the cemetery in which his brother is buried. Charlie has a special lasting bond with his brother though, as he can see him. Charlie meets up with his brother (Sam) each night to play catch and talk. Then, a girl, who happens to be his high-school classmate Tess (Amanda Crew), comes into Charlie’s life and he must choose between keeping a promise he made to Sam, or going after his newfound love. And as he finds the courage to let go of the past for good, Charlie discovers the soul most worth saving is his own.
